Schedule Of Heated Yoga Classes June Schedule Of Heated Yoga Classes Fri. 6/6/03 9:30 a.m. class Fri. 6/13/03 9:30 a.m. class Fri. 6/20/03 9:30 a.m. class Fri. 6/27/03 9:30 a.m. classPracticing yoga in a heated room has several advantages. Postures are easier to do and you can work much deeper as the body is warmer and more receptive to the movements and stretches. Due to this, working in a heated room helps to increse flexibility faster then performing yoga postures when the body is cool. Guidelines for Heated Yoga Classes-- You will be taking a yoga class in a room heated to approx. 90-95 degrees.-- Dress lightly. Clothing should preferably be cotton or a fabric that allows the skin to release sweat. Bring a warmer layer for relaxation and after class.-- Drink a few glasses of water before the class.-- Bring your own mat or towel. (I will not be lending out mats during this class!).-- Arrive on time. I will be slowly raising the heat in the room during the warm-up, to allow everyone to acclimate to the heat. It would be stressful to the body to try to jump into the class 15 min. late when the room is already heated.-- I will provide some small hand towels, but please feel free to bring your own.-- This class is not appropriate for anyone who has high, uncontrolled/un-medicated blood pressure, or is pregnant. If you have any health concerns please ask!-- It is normal to feel slightly nauseous or light headed especially if you are new to heated yoga. If this occurs, come out of the posture take a few deep breaths and drink some water. If the feeling does not pass in a few minutes please let me know.-- If you do not wish to take a heated yoga class you can come to a different class that week, just check with me before hand to see which classes have room.
